Product Description

CLASSIC ALPACA TOUR ​(90min)

This is the ultimate alpaca experience for all alpaca lovers!
During the Classic Tour, you'll be treated to a fun and informative alpaca farm visit where you can feed our lovely alpacas in their paddocks and learn more about them, their history and their beautiful fleeces. 
Each alpaca even has a name! 
Cold weather is no problem. We also have an indoor area and this means you can enjoy our alpacas year round! 
NOW for large groups, we can seat up to 80 people in Granero - our large barn

WALK-AN-ALPACA TOUR available on selected days at 11 am (90min) 
​Bookings are essential (max 10 people)

​If you're looking to have your little ones, or yourself, beaming with joy, look no further than this fun-filled alpaca farm tour! During this unique tour, you will learn about these amazing animals and their beautiful fibre as you lead your new furry friend around the farm and feed them their favourite treats. Each alpaca even has a name! Meet our 2 llamas, Lima and Cusco and see if you can spot the difference between alpacas and llamas. You'll have plenty of opportunities to take photos with the Waikato landscape in the backdrop and to score a cuddly alpaca hug. Included in the tour is a delicious home-baked alpaca shaped biscuit.

These intimate guided tours are limited to 10 people and we intend to have at least 1 alpaca available for every 2 guests. 

 

ALPACA FEEDING TRAIL (No time limit)

​Fun for all ages! If you want to create memories, experience the serenity of a rural alpaca farm and connect with your soul animal, look no further than our fun-filled alpaca trail! While enjoying the tranquil alpaca scene, you can feed your new furry friends their favourite treats. Meet our 2 funny llamas, Lima and Cusco and see if you can notice the difference between alpacas and llamas. Feeding is over the fence and you'll have plenty of opportunities to take photos with the Waikato landscape in the backdrop. This flexible option is great for people on a tight schedule.

Soap Felting Workshop

Felt your own buff soap with Alpaca fibre! Join us for a fun Workshop and learn the technique. Brighten up your bathroom with a colourful alpaca fibre felted soap. Alpaca has natural anti-fungal properties and will retain its freshness. It will gently exfoliate and is suitable for face and body. The felt will make your bar last longer.

Great as a group activity! Not included in Farm Tours, but can be added as an extra.

CORNERSTONE KITCHEN

Our funky onsite cafe, brings you warm hospitality, friendly service and delicious food in a unique, relaxing farm atmosphere.  ​We buy local and we buy quality!

Enjoy authentic handmade woodfired pizza, gourmet burgers & chips, toasties, real fruit ice cream and fresh waffles in a relaxing rural alpaca farm setting. We have a real South African style built-in braai place with plenty of seating. Our garden cafe has undercover seating and outdoor seating in a natural field garden with a view of the alpaca paddocks.

Company Info

Cornerstone Alpacas is a family farm and kiwi owned and operated. Owners, Dave and Sonja Blom, have been in alpaca farming since 2006 and are still enjoying every moment of it! They welcome visitors to their farm for Alpaca Farm Tours since 2014 and also run an alpaca farm shop where quality alpaca products are sold in the shop and online. Cornerstone Kitchen is our very unique cafe with field garden seating and a view of the paddocks.

Granero ("barn" in Spanish) is our stunning venue. It is a new barn to accommodate large groups for Farm Tours and is available to hire for functions & weddings! We also use Granero for special events hosted on the farm.
