The Academy Galleries present a changing programme of exhibitions throughout the year. During the Festival of the Arts from 16 February to 17 March Rembrandt Remastered Returns with digitally remastered copies of the original works as they appeared when they left the artist's studio. This is a ticketed exhibition. Entry costs $10 (13 years and under $5).
"Urban Forms", an exhibition looking at the cityscape and city life, is open from 22 March to 28 April. Following this, an open-theme Autumn exhibition runs from 3 May to 26 May. Our "Looking at Ourselves" exhibition of portraits and nudes runs from 31 May to 30 June. All works in these exhibitions are for sale. Entry to these exhibitions is free.
Smaller exhibitions of prints or pottery or small works are staged in the LightSpace Gallery within the Galleries. Works are usually for sale and entry is free.

The New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts was founded in Wellington in 1882 to foster and support local artists, and exhibit their works to the public. It is an incorporated society with a membership composed primarily of practising artists.
