Departure Times

The Christchurch Tram operates from 8:30pm-6pm daily in summer and from 9am-5pm daily in winter, with the last tram departing from stop 1 one hour prior to closing.

The Christchurch Gondola operates from 10am-5pm daily in summer and from 10am-4pm daily in winter, with the last cabin departing from the summit station one hour after closing. 

Punting on the Avon operates from 9am-5pm daily in summer and from 9:30am-4pm daily in winter. Bookings are essential.

The Botanic Gardens Tour operates from 10am-4pm daily in summer and from 11am-3:30pm Thursday-Sunday (closed Monday-Wednesday) in winter. Bookings are recommended. 

The Tramway Restaurant departs at 7:30pm daily and at 5pm on selected dates. Bookings are essential. 

The attractions are closed on Christmas Day, and the Tramway Restaurant is closed on all public holidays. 

Duration

Christchurch Tram: a full circuit of the tram route takes approximately 50 minutes. Tickets are valid for hop-on hop-off travel for one calendar day.

Christchurch Gondola: allow 2-3 hours for a visit including travel time from central Christchurch.

Punting on the Avon: punt rides take approximately 30 minutes. Check in is 15 minutes prior to departure, and punts depart promptly at the scheduled departure time. 

Botanic Gardens Tour: a full tour takes approximately 50 minutes. Guests are welcome to hop on and off at the three stops with their ticket.

Tramway Restaurant: 7:30pm services take approximately 2-2.5 hours. 5pm services take approximately 1.5 hours.
