Step into our hot shop and work one-on-one with our head artist to sculpt your chosen item out of molten glass. We offer a range of introductory experiences where you get the opportunity to make an object out of hot glass. Choose a Paperweight, Pumpkin, or Tumbler. Or try all three! These workshops give you a chance to try glass-making firsthand and walk away with a unique piece of glass art that you’ve created yourself.
Firstly, we will start you off with the hardest part which is selecting the colour and shape of your glass. Then we provide an overview of the layout, tools, and techniques used in creating your chosen piece, as well as, all the rules for keeping safe inside the hot shop. Finally, you're ready! Now you'll be the star of the show as we guide you through the process of molding, sculpting, colouring, pulling, poking, and of course, blowing glass.
Our workshops run every Sunday from 9:30 a.m.
Each workshop takes around 45 minutes to complete per person but the glass must remain here overnight in our "cooling oven" (or annealler) and will be ready for delivery or collection by the following day.
*Annealing is a process of slowly cooling hot glass objects after they have been formed, to relieve internal stresses that can cause the glass to break or shatter
