Skippers Canyon Jet is a family owned operation whose ancestors date back 5 generations in the canyon. Winky (4th generation) still lives in the canyon today and her father was the last of the sluice gold miners in the canyon. Her son, Benj (5th generation), is the general manager of the company and one of the most experienced jet boat drivers in New Zealand. The jet boat activity was started in the early 90's after the last of the commercial gold mining companies finished mining for gold in 1991. Thirty years later and Skippers Canyon Jet is still showing people an incredible time in Skippers Canyon.
