Our family has been devoted to farming for generations, and over the years, we have amassed a wealth of knowledge about farming in the Mackenzie country. One of the highlights of our farm is that we have a rich history of farming merino sheep at Mt Hay. Our station is a fully operational farm, and we are excited to share our unique Mt Hay Farm Experience which includes sheep shearing & mustering demonstration.

Go Tekapo owns 50,000 acres of farmland in Lake Tekapo that is home to 12,000 Merino Sheep, 600 Angus Beef Cattle, 30 Horses, and 15 Alpaca.
We’ve dedicated ourselves to the goal of sustainable farming and are very proud to have reached the milestone of becoming a “carbon positive” farm and have achieved the highest possible grade in our most recent sustainability audit.
We have now opened access to our land for a variety of tourism operations, from a family friendly petting zoo & farm tours to stargazing, bespoke fishing & hunting tours. Our aim is to provide visitors to Lake Tekapo the option to experience the High-Country adventure of their choice.
