Try out your ice skating skills on our state of the art Ice Skating Rink! Your entry includes your ice skate rental, and we have a range of Skating Aid's available to rent so your whole team can build their confidence on the ice. Whether you’re a seasoned pro, or someone taking to the ice for the first time, we will provide an unforgettable ice skating experience and memories to last a lifetime!

Bump your friends on our unique Ice Bumper Cars! Unlike the more traditional bumper car, the ice bumper car experience is very fluid because the slippery surface allows for the cars to bump and slide. The mood is set with specialty party lights and music to accompany your 10 minute bumper ride!

Enjoy the beautiful Queenstown Gardens and play a round of 18-hole Frisbee Golf! Hire your Frisbee and score card from us and enjoy the sunshine.

Our fully licensed Cafe & Bar has a great range of food, coffees and beverages to keep your whole crew fed! Our outdoor Garden Bar is also open during the warmer seasons, so you can enjoy your beverage and snack while hanging out with your friends in the sun!

What To Bring

Socks (long socks recommended), warm layers, jackets, pants, covered footwear, warm gloves, warm hat, and camera. If you have a ski helmet, we recommend you bring it, but we have helmets we can provide free of charge if not.

We have our Hockeytown Merchandise available to purchase, with both children and adult sizes available. We also have gloves available to purchase if you forget your own.

Company Info

The Queenstown Ice Arena is located centrally in the heart of the Queenstown Gardens, only a 5-minute walk to the town center and surrounded by beautiful Lake Whakatipu and mountains. The rink was purchased by the Graham family in 2010 and almost 13 years on, Ted and Dan's hard work and extensive renovations each summer have helped turn the Queenstown Ice Arena into one of the most successful ice arenas in New Zealand. The arena now hosts international ice hockey games and an exciting programme of events throughout the winter season.

Kids and adults alike can learn to ice skate, speed skate, figure skate or play hockey during the school terms at the arena. The ice arena is also home to the Queenstown's premier ice hockey team, the Skycity Stampede, who are five time New Zealand Ice Hockey League champions, and they host the New Zealand/Australia series as part of the Trans-Tasman tournament. Crowds of locals and visitors turn up to watch the incredible talent on ice and experience the exciting action at the games.
