2 - 3 Bedroom APARTMENT upstairs in the lodge sleeps 6 – 10 max. This good sized unit is self-contained with private kitchen/dining & bathroom facilities.
The EN-SUITE rooms suit Twin / Double. Own bedroom with private bathroom facilities.
ECONOMY lodge rooms are upstairs in the lodge with shared bathroom facilities.
All lodge rooms have access to full communal kitchen/dining facilities and a large guest lounge with log burner for winter warmth.

Only a 15-minute drive to Turoa, New Zealand’s largest ski field, for a fantastic Snow, Ski, and Snowboarding experience. 1/2hr drive to Mt Ruapehu’s second ski field - Whakapapa.
We are on the doorstep to Tongariro National Park with all grades of Mountain Biking and Hiking trails, with many bush and alpine tracks open throughout the Park. 1/2 hour drive to the world famous “Tongariro Alpine Crossing”. We are situated 200m from the start/end of the “Old Coach Road” walking and mountain biking trail.
Ohakune is a convenient base for renowned Wanganui river trips (via canoe or jet boat). White water rafting trips are available year round on two major rivers in the region. Horse treks and 4WD motorbike experiences are also on offer.
The beautiful Waimarino 18 hole Golf course is only a 3min drive away.
Many exciting Trout fishing streams and rivers are found throughout the region, including the famous Tongariro River. Lake Taupo for swimming, hot pools, sailing, fishing and motorboat sports is only 1hr drive away. Horse trekking available through the National parks lush forests.
Ohakune has a great range of food and beverage businesses. We are situated just 100m from the famous "Powderkeg' restaurant and bar, and there are a number of recommended cafes and takeaways in town. Ohakune township is also serviced with gift shops, supermarket, pharmacy, home DIY, electrical store etc.
Ohakune has its own world standard In-door climbing wall.
The Waiouru Army Museum is well worth a visit.

We have lived in the region for all our lives and have an extensive local knowledge about the mountains and the park. Kevin is a keen deer hunter in the local bush and Leigh has skied and hiked on, over and around Mt Ruapehu forever!
Free Local Knowledge: Kevin & Leigh are “full dinkum” locals who have brought their families up in this outstanding region of natural beauty. We have walked the tracks, skied the mountain and dinned and shopped locally. If you need help with any aspect of your visit please just ask.
