Our Towns:

  • A wine village packed with charm Martinborough is surrounded by more than 20 cellar doors, most within easy walking or cycling distance from each other. Hire a bike and taste gin, olive oil, beer and wine as you go.
  • Featherston’s history is strongly linked to the railway – these days it’s the spot to rest and refuel after biking the Remutaka Cycle Trail. Stock up at C’est Cheese for deli delights. As a Booktown, literature is celebrated with many bookstores.
  • Good looking Greytown is a Victorian gem. Stop for good food, great coffee and sensational Schoc chocolate. Retail therapy in the distinctive stores is highly recommended. See the history of the town revealed at Cobblestones Museum.
  • Carterton. Fuel up on goodies from the thriving cafe scene. Gateway to the stunning Tararua Forest Park, including spectacular Waiohine Gorge and Fensham Reserve. Choose from a day or multi-day walk or camp at Mt Holdsworth or in a DOC hut.
  • Masterton’s Queen Elizabeth Park’s playground, miniature train and state-of-the-art skate park is a mecca for young people. Check out ten-pin bowling, golf courses, the indoor swimming pool and movie theatres. Nearby Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre is a must-do.
