Unlock a full day of wildlife wonder at Te Nukuao Wellington Zoo, the world's first CarbonZero-certified Zoo. Nestled in the suburb of Newtown, Wellington Zoo welcomes visitors for 364 days of the year (Only closed on Christmas Day)

Your general entry ticket gives you access to over 500 native and exotic animals, daily animal talks, and vet-led demonstrations at Te Kōhanga The Nest, Wellington Zoo's very own animal hospital.

Open daily (except Christmas Day) from 9:30AM to 5:00PM, with last entry at 4:15PM.

During your visit, you can enjoy your own lunch at our outdoor picnic areas or indulge in the food venues located at the Zoo. Rex Tremendous Cafe is found at the entrance and the Banana Bar right in the middle of the Zoo. You can also browse sustainable, locally sourced gifts and souvenirs in the Zoo Shop.

Wellington Zoo is located at 200 Daniell Street, Newtown - Just a 10-minute drive or bus ride on route 23 from central Wellington. Limited free and mobility parking is available nearby.
